If the WFCO charger really goes into boost mode, a few hours will give you a pretty good charge. If so consider yourself lucky. the WFCO is not known for really going into boost mode and for many (likely majority) users stays in the 13.6V mode and it will take a long long time to get the battery charged. In the 13.6V range your limited to 15A or so instead of the 50A in boost mode.
It's not the generators fault, it's the WFCO's "fault".
