Dually Valve Stem Extensions

Okay Dually owners, I have talked to a few people and I think this has got to be one of the most frustrating point of owning our trucks.....checking/adjusting air pressures. I have added solid extensions, but they barely bring the stems through the wheel and are difficult to get them to take air at times. Others I know have used the braided extensions and have other complaints. I have heard of extensions getting broken off from ice, snow, mud. Some people have gotten so frustrated that they have given up on them and removed the wheel covers/inserts to make it easier to get through the hand holes and just gone back to regular stems.

What have you found works best?

I had the braided type never had an issue.

I have the braided ones also, and have had no issues.

I have had a 'flat' due to the solid extensions on both inside wheels of my 3500 Dually.

I just dealt with that very thing the other day. Huge pain in the butt, even with Good Sams membership (ended up taking around 4 hrs to deal with, and that's not counting getting new stem installed)

Was the end of the extension supported? If not it puts a lot of stress on the stem as the vehicle moves.

I have the solid extensions, but put steel valve stems in instead of the rubber to help support the weight. So far no issues, but another guy I know had a flat on the inside wheel after ice build up broke the stem. I guess that was too much weight and force
