Springdale 293RK Kitchen & Pantry Setup

I recently purchased a 293RK to replace an old Komfort we had. Now that Covid restrictions up here in BC are easing and campgrounds opening up we are now loading up. There are a few things now kinda jumping out. There seems to be an inherit lack of storage space for things like canned goods and other pantry items. The overhead storage bins don't appear to be sturdy enough to carry heavier items. We put pots and pans under the sink as always, and other items in various drawers. Now I'm back to canned and other pantry type items.

I'm hoping that other Springdale 293RK owners could share their kitchen and pantry setups, and what they put where to make things work.

We don't have that same trailer, but we have the same issue. Not a lot of storage space for heavy items. Any place that can sit on the floor is okay, so under the kitchen sink and the under-bed storage areas are good for these items.

I learned the hard way that we can't put heavy items in the cupboards or drawers, etc.

For some items, we travel with them on the floor under the table, and then put them in drawers when we reach the campsite, then put them back on the floor when we break camp. Kind of a pain.

Heavy items above floor level opens up several "bad situations".

First, it raises the trailer center of gravity. While a "can of beans" won't make a difference, 2 cases of bottled water, a cupboard shelf filled with 15 or 20 cans of vegetables and so forth can affect towing.

Second, "trailer cabinet doors" aren't the most secure doors you can find, so hit a bump and the door opens, you can wind up with a mess in the trailer. Imagine all those soup cans rolling out, one at a time to break the countertop, the catsup and mustard falling to the floor, the container splitting open from the fall and then those soup cans rolling around, spreading red and yellow "abstract paintings" on the carpet.....

Heavy (and potentially messy) cargo should be well secured and close to the floor..... BTDT with "very unwelcome results"... It's no fun, at 4PM after towing all day, to set up and clean the trailer all night.....

Fridge door on 2020 293rk

Have you opened the fridge door and tried to get the vegetable drawer out of the fridge? On mine, it can not be done. Assuming they are all the same, who thought that the seat for the dinette sticking out was a good idea?
