Outrigger not bolted
Was looking at the threads talking about water intrusion around the Darco in the wheel well area of some trailers, so thought I'd go check mine out.
I didn't realize how much mud got up there on our last trip, so will wash it off and check.
However, while I was under there, I found that that the outrigger between the axles that is under the middle of the slide was improperly attached at the factory - they missed putting the bolt through the outrigger hole. The bolt washer has a hold of about 1/8 of an inch of the outrigger.
I assume this should be dealt with. Would fixing this be covered under our 3 year structure warranty??
In the picture, the outside of the trailer is on your right, and the frame is on the left...
Tnx

It looks like someone at the factory needed a third hand when installing that bolt... It "should be covered" under your structural warranty, but I'd ask these questions:
1. How far is it to your dealership service department?
2. Can you get an appointment in a reasonable time frame?
3. How long are you going to have to leave your trailer and is it secure while at the dealers? (remember, you'll have batteries that will be going dead or you'll need to remove them/disconnect them/install a cutoff switch that really cuts them off).
4. And, lastly, is it with the hassle, the effort, the time lost and the risk to have the dealer apply to Keystone for a warranty that might be disapproved, in which case you'll either pay for the repair or bring it home and fix it yourself. So, given that, wouldn't it be easier and much faster to just unbolt that bolt, push the outrigger over and reintall the bolt ????

I have outriggers with no bolts anywhere near them. I don’t know if this is an oversight or intentional. I’ve wondered if I should add bolts up into the floor/body.

Can’t access the bolt head because it’s in the wall/floor, so the question is whether it will loosen or tighten while getting the nut off/on, and will the bolt even move up to slide the outrigger over...
