TV removal during winterizing

Good afternoon all,

Quick question about TV removal when winterizing. With my old Rockwood I would remove the TV's for the winter just wondering with my new camper and the evolution of electronics is it needed anymore? I don't heat the camper in storage and I live in Maryland so our temperatures change on a daily basis.

I leave my TV in and have never had an issue. I also live in MD.

Never taken ours out and never had a problem.
Gets down to single digits here in the winter and over 100 in the summer.

We get sub zero temps for weeks on end and our Cougar is in the pole barn, unheated with the TV in place. No problems, but we do let the TV warm up to room temperature for at least a day or two (to be sure it's thawed completely) before we plug it in and turn it on in the spring.

We live in Manitoba, cold winters, outdoor storage and we leave the TVs in the trailer. They work fine, never had a problem. Like John said, we make sure they are warmed up to room temperature before using them.

We leave the TV in the trailer and never have an issue although we don't get deep freeze temps in W TX. We do however have sub zero weather quite often at our vacation home in the mountains and it doesn't hurt those TVs either.

Thanks for the advise. Just sad having to put it away until Spring. Happy Thanksgiving all.

When I lived in Minnesota and was PT, I pulled the TV's out for the winter when winterizing the rig, just for peace of mind (if any condensation is on the IC boards when the temp drops below zero it could crack the solder on the circuit boards). It was literally a 10 minute job to pull the 3 TV's in my Raptor. Now we're FT and I'm following the good weather...

I did with the old CRT type but don't any longer. The big Vizio LR and and little BR TVs have been just fine after well below zero F . If you stop to think about it, those TVs all come from an exotic Far Eastern country 12 months a year and have no temp protection until they reach your home or RV, regardless of where you live.
