AC

We haven't had to use the AC yet. It's on the thermostat on the wall. Assuming you just set it to cool and then the temperature? Anything else you need to do?

AC

You need to choose fan speed. If you choose HI or LOW, then the fan will run all the time and the compressor will cycle. In AUTO mode everything will turn on and everything will turn off at set temp.
IF your plugged into shore power and

IF the fan is set to HI or Low:

When you ask for heat, both the AC fan and the furnace fan will blow. If the FAN is set to AUTO it will not come on with furnace.

To operate just the fan to circulate air, choose FAN and speed.

Are you confused yet?

Chuckster's right, but what isn't readily clear is that the thermostat has three modes, other than off. First mode is fan speed - high, low or auto (he explained that). Second mode is Air Conditioner - set the temp you want it to come on. Third mode is Heat - set the temp you want the furnace to come on. Which ever mode you have active is what the system will run with. The Fan mode is the one that will keep it's setting and run in the background of the other modes. So if you want the fan running all the time, set it to high or low, then flip over to which ever system you want - A/C or heat. Or, just leave it on the Fan mode. Does that make sense?

Thanks to you both!! Out in Banff for the week and we had a chance to try the air. Not sure I would have got it if not for your information. Not real easy too understand.
Question; the floor vents are for heat, circle vents in the roof are for air but on the A/C unit itself is a vent also. When I close it, it is much quiet. Does it need to be open? Also, what is the purpose to run the fan with the air or heat?

The vent(s) on the AC unit at the ceiling are a "quick cool" or "dump" feature. It lets you cool off that area (living) of the coach faster than air just going through the vents. You can open it for that purpose and then close it to cool off the rest of the rig.

You have to run the fan with the AC. If you have the fan on Auto and the AC comes on the fan will come on. It moves the air through the ducts. The furnace has its own fan built in. It will move the air through the heating ducts. Some people like to run the AC fan with the furnace, also.

Another lil' tip (I posted on another thread) is to cover your floor furnace vents openings & if you have vents in your stairs leading to the bedroom, cover those as well. No since wasting precious cold air filling up the duct work and basement!
