Pinbox Flag Pole Mount
I didn't want to fly my flag(s) from the rear of the 5ver with one of those expensive ladder mounts set so I went about to design one on my own.
I utilized two of the exposed empty holes from the pinbox for mounting a removable hardwood 1-1/4" closet pole with wing nuts. Attached an angled wood face board with dowel inserted through for strength. Pole tube is a piece of PVC pipe held with two U bolts. Attached a 1/2"PVC cap to mount a length of PVC pipe and 90 deg. fitting to mount light. It works well and it cost maybe $12 and some scrap pieces of PVC pipe and fittings.

I have a ladder mount from www.flagpolebuddy.com that I really like, but that looks like it works very well. Its good to fly the flag.

I use a "wonderpole". it is fiberglass and extends to 24ft. I have a flat plate that goes under the tire to keep it secure. I've had it for 4 years and love it. I fly old glory and a Navy flag under it.

I love this Idea, and it looks Great. I have a under tire mount that is to close to the side and it hits the roof when it really windy out. But I think I'm going to look at building something like this. Great Idea...

All I can tell you is be VERY careful about wind conditions. We were in Albuquerque last November and one night had gusts to 40 mph. The next morning, one person's flag and pole was about a quarter mile away and another person's had beaten the rear of his Class A all up before the flag tore loose. All happened while they were out for dinner.

Thank you...
What is not shown because of the paved lot, I also made a staked cup to drive into the ground to accept the bottom of the pole.

Very interesting ! Nice job as well.
Can you post a few more pictures showing close up how you mounted the bracket to the pin box. Being black it is hard to see.
Thanks
Bill

Bill &Deb... I can do that if you like. I'll need to wait till I get our trailer back from the dealer who is doing some minor warranty work.
I can tell you that I just used two carriage bolts, lined up with two open holes from the pin box and tighting them each down with a washer and wing nut. The carriage bolts work well since they seat tight into the wood rod, so they stay put. The trickest part is determining the correct angle for mounting the face block. Also had to notch the rod side facing the pin box for the lip of the slide plate so the rod would lay flat against it. Make sure your face block is far enough out so that your pole will not flex against the nose of your trailer.
