Wet Master Bedroom Floor

The last day of our camping trip we noticed the floor was wet on the left side of the master bedroom. Once we got home and inspected things a bit closer the floor was wet from the bottom middle of the left side step up to the middle of the under bed storage. The carpeting was not wet on the right or on the left next to the wall. Next, we opened up the water pump cubby and checked for water leaks from both the city supply and fresh water fill lines. No LEAKS! Next we removed the underbelly covering and looked for leaks....nothing. Help....where do I go next? Has anyone removed a freshwater tank? Is it possible that the fresh water tank has sprung a leak next to our bed? The trailer is a 2011 Cougar 26bhs.

So next to the bed? How about next to the wall or just next to the bed and under the bed? What was the weather like? How much water? Was the water tank full at the end of the week. Is the water tank under the bed or under the floor. Anything else you can tell us.

A similar issue happened to me. The water pump area was dry by the time I noticed it, but the carpet was still wet. I haven't tracked down the exact spot of the leak yet, but I know that it leaked because my city water connection apparently overfilled and actually pressurized my fresh water tank over the weekend. Water literally shot out at me for a second or so when I opened my fresh water fill cap.

To further clarify: the weather was a perfect 74-75 degrees, there was no water next to the outside wall, water was only found under the bed (half of the under bed storage area) and to the left side of the bed (same side as the water pump is located), the carpet was very wet (not standing water) enough to make my socks wet when I accidentally found it on the side of the bed, the water tank was not full as we had been hooked up to water during the camping trip. We had excellent water pressure all weekend. The fresh water tank is located under the front end of the trailer which looks to be under the front part of the bed with the back edge being near where the wet carpet is in the under bed storage area.

How close is your shower to your bedroom? Our shower is right next the the bedroom on the upper level. Took several months for us to realize that when some people took showers, that the water would get in the shower door slid, work it's way down to the end of the tub, and then would leak down into the master bedroom. Sealing the outside of the rail fixed the problem. DO NOT seal the inside of the rail as the water must drain towards the tub. If this isn't your scenario, then I have no other ideas to assist. First off is this new to you or not. If you had this since new I do not think the tank just started leaking unless you put a screw or nail thru it. Your saying that your not using the fresh water tank so I would not look at it or the pump at least first. If the pump is leaking, check it when it is running. I would not rule out a roof or wall leak from rain or pressure washing. if this is new to you. If only using city water check those lines and at the fill area for leaks. You may be able to hear water leaking without seeing it. Good Luck

You indicated you weren't using the fresh water tank because you were hooked up, correct? If that's the case, the pump wasn't running.
I suspect a leak in the plumbing system, possibly near the fresh water inlet. I suggest hooking up to fresh water at home, then test for leaks.

If you have a FloJet water pump, check the inlet and outlet O-rings and be sure the locking levers on the pump fittings are properly pushed in (locked). If you have a Shurflo water pump, make sure the trailer fittings are screwed tightly to the pump fittings and there is Teflon tape on the threads.

It sounds like something either "loosened" and is leaking or "uncoupled" and is leaking. It shouldn't be a tough problem to solve if you can set up the same conditions (city water for an overnight trial) and use your fingers to find a damp spot on the plumbing run around the pump.

The water tank supply line is located on the lower side of the tank, is connected to the pump inlet and the pump outlet is connected to a "TEE" in the city water supply line. If the pump fittings are secure and not leaking, then one of those "water tank fittings" is probably not tightened

Don't forget the water system is rated at about 60 PSI, most city water systems are pressurized above that, so you do need a pressure regulator/pressure reducer set at about 40/45 PSI to "protect your fragile plumbing"......

A friend of mine just discovered water leaking in at the crank for his tv antenna. Turns out the boot around the cable comes loose and moves back along the cable exposing the pass thru hole into the trailer. It's an easy fix....a little sealant.

I had hoped we would hear of the cause and fix. If their in the western half of Wa. it is becoming that time of year it rains inches in a day.
