Hot water heater therm adj.

Is there a way to adjust the thermostat on a Suburban 6 gallon hot water heater. Think the pre set is 140 degree but with the shower faucet poor ability to adjust and maintain the water temp, would like to get the setting down to about 120. Think 140 would cause a 3rd degree burn and not much room in the shower stall to avoid the spray if it hits you at full temp. Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks

Not aware of any adjustment for the HWT temperature. All we do is adjust the cold water flow to get the desired temperature and make sure we do not just have hot water on by itself.

Likely not able to adjust the temps. I think that was ended years ago. But, go to the web site with your model of water heater or read the manual to be sure. Again I think at some point years ago I had the ability to change the temps in WHs in RVs but, have not seen or read about any in recent times.

Pretty sure there's a few threads that say there's no adjustments.
I hold the shower head to the wall while adjusting the temperature as burning myself isn't the way I'd like to start my day

If the water starts at 140° at the heater, in most cases it will be at or below 120° when it reaches the shower. It may feel hot but should be safely below the scald point especially since the small tank will be mixing quickly with colder water. I also have not heard of temp adjustments in years.

My Suburban 12 gallon Hot Water Tank manual states thermostat set to maintain 130 degrees and is not adjustable

Your Suburban water heater is a 2013 model. Suburban stopped using adjustable Robertshaw thermostat/gas control valves in about 1997 or around then. Today's water heaters are preset and not adjustable. As stated above, it's set at "about" 130 F.
