Added Invertor Power Outlet in the Kitchen

I have another thread with a project earlier this year where I switched to a 6 volt system and added a 1000W inverter. At first I just ran power to an outlet I installed at the entertainment center so I could power the TV and residential Blu-ray player and Samsung Sound Bar. I had also planned to add outlets in the kitchen, bedroom (at the TV) and the bathroom.

Today, since I had the entire coroplast belly cover off for a separate project, I decide to take advantage of the access and ran another line from the front compartment where the inverter is all the way the rear of the trailer (RKS) and up into the kitchen so we could run our coffee pot when we are boondocking.

It was quite simple since I already had all the materials. I had previously ordered a mobile home style outlet box and I had 14 GA wire. Here are some pictures.

The starting point:

This is the existing access hole at the rear of the trailer and comes up just behind the converter in the kitchen:

I merely needed to remove the kitchen drawers to have access up the back wall to place the new outlet just above the 110 outlet:

I ran 14 GA stranded extension cord wire for ease of plugging in to the inverter and it's so flexible and easy to work with but the outlet requires solid wire so I connected the wires in a junction box I mounted behind the drawers"

Easy project and now we can use the coffee pot or other electric appliances anytime without having to fire the generator.

Next will be either the bedroom or the bathroom.

Nice job . On a cord like that I use crimp on spade connectors to tie into the outlet.

That would have been another good alternative.
