Running by weights by the WP

So a friend is looking into camping and just want to verify. Look ok to me as long as his wife doesn’t pack like mine.

TV is 2016 f-150 crew 5.0 xlt
Payload 1878
GVWR 8000
Front GAWR 3450
Rear GAWR 3800

Trailer is 2021 Springdale 282BH
GVWR 8600

They both weigh around 300 together
Hitch weight should be 900-1200(10-15%)
Not sure what hitch he’s choosing but say 50-100

Still should leave around 200# left.
What do you guys think?

Something's wrong with those ratings... You can't have an 8000 GVW and the maximum front/rear axle rating only add up to 7250 pounds, Those axles are incapable of carrying 8000 pounds.... Double check his GVW/FAWR/RAWR.

You’re right. Read the sticker wrong. GVWR is 7000

They also have an Expedition with 7200 GVWR and payload of 1794. It actually has better numbers but don’t know if it’s an XL and think the shorter wheelbase won’t be beneficial.

You are on the right track. With 200 left that has to cover all passengers, accessories, cargo etc. anything not included from the factory.

They are looking at a bunk house model. Any kids that will be travelling with them? If so, that has to be considered. If not, they will likely be close, as that leaves only 200# for everything they could put into the bed of the truck. So they could be good if they pack very lightly, good be way overloaded if kids and their stuff also need to be added.
