Tire pressure monitor

I would like to buy pressure moniters for my 2850 Passport, I would like the valve stem sensor ones(external) and the monitor in the truck needs to have all 4 pressures visible at the same time and not have to scan through to see them all. Any one have a brand or model that they really like.

Don't have a model that shows all four tires at the same time. Nut I do use the tst 507. It cycles through the sensors. Temp. and pressure. A great peace of mind and early warning system.

Have the older TST 510 system, similar to the 507 -- adjustable pressure and temp alarms. Gave me early warning on a leakling tire, was able to get to a safe place to get off the road and change it. Cycles through the sensors(like the 507) unless an alarm occurs which will cause it to jump to the alarm readout.

I'm pretty familiar with tire pressure monitoring systems and don't know of any that show all the tires at the same time. The TST is the one we use and it scrolls through automatically and continuously and shows the PSI and Temperature at the same time.
Ours TST has worked wonderfully well for over 3 years and had "saved" us twice big time. Hugs, Di

I'm just wondering how the external TPMS works for temperature - are they really accurate? The internal ones should be great, but are the external just as good? I want to get six for my dually also and monitor everything.

I use the tst 507 on our 5er. Temps and pressure run true.

Tst 507

Decided to take the plunge and bought a 507 system, 10 sensors. I have six on my dually now and will put the other four on the trailer when the weather gets a bit better. I have the external flow through ones and they seem to work well so far. Only issue is that I have stainless wheel inserts and I was unable to get the sensors on the rear wheels without removing them - it's such a joy to remove/install these wheels!

Pressure seemed consistent with my hand gauge and temperature on all units was within one degree (43-44). Yup, it was brisk in the garage that day!

I should have mentioned, I called the company and found the representative very helpful. He put the order in that day and I had them at my house 3 days later.

I just purchased a 507 this morning. Thanks for all of the information on this unit. I was originally looking at another brand, but this one seems to be working well for many forum members.

I bought my 507 system on Monday after a couple back-and-forth emails with the company president. Shipping to Canada included in price?!? WOW!
The service was almost freakishly good, as in why do they answer me so quickly??
Anyway, looking forward to receiving and installing it.

The system works really well. the only issue and it is minor is the mount arm with the uction cup. it is very long and i believe designed for big rigs with flat windshields that are farther away from you. but they also send a dash pad mount and that works perfectly. enjoy the system the first time it saves your hind quaters you will be glad you bought it.

Which one to pick?

After my tire failure last week, I'm in the market for a TPMS.

I rejected the TST 507 system because of the bulky "flow through" sensor design. Do you have any idea how much centripetal force those things exert on a valve stem at 60 mph? I do. The 510's sensor exerts half that force.

The main drawback to the $239 TST 510RV is the $50 cost per additional sensor. I'm not going to just buy an 8-sensor system. I'm going to buy a 4-sensor one and use it on the 5er first, then maybe expand later, if I really like it. But not for $200 more.

The $219 TireTraker's extra sensors only cost $35 each. The main drawback to the TireTraker is that it doesn't scroll through each wheel automatically. However, upon contemplation, I now think that's a good thing---I really don't want the TPMS to be a distraction. I can manually scroll at a stoplight if I'm really curious.

The $139 Orange P409S got a huge black eye recently because its older sensor transmitted every 30 seconds 24 hours a day, and thus the non-replaceable battery died very prematurely, basically forcing you buy a whole new system every two years (not 7-10 as they originally claimed). But its new "G sensor" transmits only when the wheel is in motion, so battery life should be longer. Its big plus is that it shows, at a single glance, all four tire pressures simultaneously on a bright LED display. However, it has numerous caveats: not expandable beyond four tires, the sensors are internal (requiring additional $16 each for tire mounting and balancing service), reduced radio range because of the internal sensor, no external antenna on the receiver, and no "signal booster" option. It is also limited to only 76psi pressure, making it viable only for smaller 5ers. But its price sure is right---provided it survives five years or more.
