bathroom mirror lights not working

2016 cougar 3337fls
I took switch off the wall and I do not have power coming to the light switch
The ground fault plugs below it works fine
Fuse in panel for bathroom in panel by kitchen sink in hallway shows no issues
I found the panel under the bathroom sink but can't tell which one drives the light power

I'm stuck ...

Thanks for your time

Welcome to the forum

Is the light a 12V light or a 120V light?

Does the switch have stranded wire or solid copper wire attached to it?

Ok, it’s a 12V light. For future reference RV 12V wiring in Keystones is:

Solid white is ground
White with any color stripe is hot.

You need to start at the 12V distribution panel and test the fuses. If the fuses are good then it’s time to start tracing back from the switch. I would look for the nearest 12V item and look for a white/green wire. You might have a bad connection, lots of manufacturers will daisy chain lots of stuff on one circuit and a bad connection can cause your issue.

I did look around at the panels and I do not see that combo coming off anything

The panel does not have any red lights showing a fuse is bad.

Test them anyway. Keystonr used a standardized 12V wiring, not sure what year it started:

update:

I just got back from my campsite and was able to do more testing

I do have 12 v at the switch. I wasn't grounding my probe properly.

The issue is I can turn on the switch and get power going out of switch so that works.
Cabinets lights by mirror, ceiling light and fan do not work.
I switch on fan and ceiling light and no change.

Is there a possible grounding issue ?

Anyy suggestions would help

Still need help ...

I can't seem figure this one out.

I do have power but the light on mirror and light on ceiling will not turn on.
Fan doesn't work either

Would a bad connection or bad switch at light cause other items not to work even with power ?

So you say you have power at the switch. Keep the meter connected to the ground and see if you have power at the light, fan, etc. If you do then the ground is not connected which would be my guess.

That is what i did same ground and i do have power at each point.
But I then forced the ground ...ran line from good ground to ground wire at light and it still didn't work. That is what made me confused even more.

Hard to get to the switch at the fan ...do you think a bad switch at the e of the line could cause all other points not to work ?

No it shouldn't. If the light has power at the light then there's likely either a bad lamp or a bad lamp socket.

that would mean all 3 lights went bad at the same time.

there are 2 separate lights by mirror and another on the ceiling.

all 3 have power but don't light up.

the lines go from switch to the mirror lights up to the ceiling light over to the fan. fan doesn't work either.

I bought the rv new and haven't had any electrical issues until this happened.
They worked one weekend and then stopped.

Then I'd look at "what happened " if anything, i.e. any work done near the area, etc. You're obviously now getting power to those items. Seeing as how the fan isn't working (assuming the fan has a separate switch) then the only common element is the ground.

Nothing changed that I can see nothing was done to RV at all:

back to the point I grounded each light to a good ground directly and they don't turn on.

Question: Has anyone else on this site have similar problem and how did you fix it ?

If you take any 12V battery and apply voltage directly to any of the fixtures do they work?

I have not tried that ...because I have power at all lights

I can try that on my next trip to Virginia were my RV is located.
Because it is so far away the more tests I have queued up the better.

If I wanted to take a new fan switch with me were would be the best site to buy one ?

If your talking about the small push button type, any rv parts store should have them.

Based on the above post, I'd ask, "Have you actually verified the fuse status with an ohmmeter? If not, the WFCO "red LED indicator for fuse fault" only illuminates "IF THE CIRCUIT IS UNDER A LOAD".

So, conceiveably, you could simply have a bad fuse, not under load (switch turned off so no load on the circuit), no red LED and everything is "normal" except the fuse is blown...

As a consideration, those "mini fart fan" motors do have a propensity to get wet when pulling shower vapor through the vent, corrode the contacts when not used for a week or two, and then blow the fuse next time the fan is turned on.....

So, if you haven't electrically verified the fuse status, I'd replace it with a known good fuse (or use an ohmmeter) and then turn on one of the lights. If you turn on the fan first, you may blow the fuse again, leading you down the wrong "troubleshooting logic pathway".....
