Fridge

We are having an issue with condensation in our fridge. The drip tray fills with water because the drain hose doesn’t seem to drain the water. Any ideas why it doesn’t drain or how we can get less condensation?

Welcome to the forum

Couple of quick questions. Are you in a high humidity area, how often do you open the door and how long do you keep it open.

Go out to the outside and remove the lower access panel. If your fridge is a Dometic, look for the end of the drain tube and make sure the end cap isn’t still taped in place. If it’s a Norcold, make sure the end is clear and the catch tray is empty.

The drain hose has a tip with several tiny holes to prevent insects from entering which plug easily due to calcification of the condensate.

Thanks to Chuckster57 & Travelin Texans. Our fridge is a Norcold and as you both said there is a plug in the end of the hose which was covered in the spray insulation. Removed the plug and the water flowed out. Will clean the plug off and reinstall. Thanks again to you both.

Seriously? Do you think the guy spraying the insulation had any idea what that hose was for? Why put a plug in it anyway? Just a suggestion, if the OP lives in an area where mud daubers thrive, occasionally check to see if those critters have not taken up residence in the hose end if the drip tray fills. I guess other bugs may also look for hose ends to crawl into and plug with the nasty little bug habits.

I will type this as loud as possible for you to hear!
Don't think for 1 second that any of these issues are limited to Keystone or any of the other Thor companies or any of the other rv manufacturers. They're all built in same area by the same under paid unskilled people that are only concerned with getting thier daily quota completed & out the door so they can leave.

And when you read about one instance out of the tens of thousands, well there are “bigger fish to fry” like the undersized axles they used for years, the inability to put the gray and black tank stickers in the correct orientation, mounting waste tank valve handles where you have to crawl under the trailer to reach them, .......
