Cable Slide Overide Tool

Hello,

We just picked up our new 5th wheel last Friday and upon getting it home and going thru everything I have realized that it did not come with the tool required to override the cable slide motors. If it is in the RV, I have not found it.

So the question is, do these units with cable slides normally come with the tool or do I need to purchase one?

As far as my experience they always come with the trailer. My last 2 units have had 3 slides and they both came with the tool(s); 1st one had 3 (one for each slide) and this one had 2. Went back and the service advisor just pulled one out of a drawer and now I have 3 for this one.

Mine came with it and tech showed how to use it during the PDI. Mine was inside the bag with all the manuals. It’s just a small tool that you attach to a drill when needed.
I would call the dealer and they should send you one

I'd call dealer and make them get you one.

Supposedly they have a clutch or something in them to help not screw up motor so you don't want to just use a square bit.

The "emergency slide tool" is really nothing more than a 10" flexible 1/4" drive extension with a hex bit to fit the motor drive. You can buy two at Auto Zone for about $10 or even at WalMart for less. Any hardware store will have them in stock in the tool department.

Be sure, if you do go buy one, to get the correct size bit to fit the end of the flex shaft. The motor is not a "1/4" socket tip.

I’ve seen them taped to the motor. Have you checked?

Thanks for the input. I will check the motors and see if they are taped on somewhere.

Otherwise I will just go buy one at a tool store.
