An electric tongue jack is hard to beat. Your tongue weight is pretty light so you don't need to worry about mega weight jacks.

I recently had to replace my LCI jack and bought a Stromberg Carlson 5000lb jack from CW. It has worked OK for me since March 1. I visited with the service manager at my CW and spoke with him about them. The LCIs have a couple of known problems; mine had a rubber grommet at the top that leaked water during a downpour then filled up the control board area. Then when I went to manually crank it the nut you're supposed to turn disintegrated - it's made out of some sort of grainy metal that just crumbled (fyi to all). The SM said this was a known problem with them.

I think some of the members use the Husky brand of tongue jack and like them. There are all kinds of them but I would stick with a known brand like Husky. I would have recommended Lippert just due to the quality of the other stuff they make but not after my experience and the discussion with the service manager. I don't think you need to get anything over a 2500/3500 lb jack - that should be way more than enough. A 1000 pounder would probably work as well if they make one.

The Lippert had a rubber grommet on the top. Even when properly installed the grommet would leak water in the right conditions. The control board is under it in a little metal trough. It can fill with water and fry the board. When that happens you can manually raise/lower the jack by putting a 3/4?? inch socket on a nut to screw the jack. The nut/bolt is made from some sort of malleable material that will just disintegrate when you put ANY pressure on it. When I tried to turn mine, I didn't put more than maybe 20 lbs pressure on it and it just crumbled.

I bought a Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack - Drop Leg - A-Frame - 23" Lift - 3,500 lbs - Black from ETrailer $169.00.
We have had some horrendous rains and so far it's working great.
My wife bought it for me for Xmas. She didn't know it but she did.

Whatever you purchase, I recommend a cover to protect the head from weather and UV. I bought one from Amazon that was pretty cheap.

I picked one up at Northern Tools. Had a coupon. Probably not the best but definitely not the worst. At the end of the day, you need a jack to go up and down. This one does it with ease, and a remote!

Cut the handle off you existing jack and weld a bolt to it that had the same size head as the stabilizer jacks, then just use your drill with the bit to run it up and down. .15 cent modification. That's what I did, works great.

I also keep my Electric Jack head covered when not in use. I ended up buying a cover on ebay and it was listed under "windlass" covers. A windlass, for those who don't know, is the winch thingy that the sailboaters use for winching the sail(s) and you can get them in different sizes. I measured the Electric Jack diameter and ordered one for the Electric Jack, and one each for the StrapTek winches that I use for my Blue Ox W.D.H. pullups.

Hmmmm great "gift idea" from DW. I'll tell her she got me one as soon as I find one. I saw one at Harbor Freight. Anyone have any opinions for our Passport Ultra Lite 290BH?

Harbor Freight 3500 pound jack, $139.99 with a 90 day warranty https://www.harborfreight.com/3500-l...ack-69899.html
Amazon 3500 pound jack, UltraFab, $127.95 with a 1 year warranty https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Fab-38-...+electric+jack
Amazon 3500 pound jack, Best Choice Sky, $94.95 with a 1 year warranty https://www.amazon.com/Best-Choice-P...SKWD1PAKFBNJVE

There are a number of other choices that offer 4X the warranty that HF offers for the same or less money. Your choice, of course, but I've had terrible luck with HF electric powered items.
