We don't have a key fob, but our keyless pad has never worked - before or after it was replaced under waranty.

I did an experiment to simulate a dead battery in my keypad on my keyless entry on my Alpine. I locked the door with the keypad and then to simulate a dead battery, I tried to unlock the deadbolt with the proper FIC key and could not unlock the door. I do not plan on locking the door with the keypad any longer due to never knowing when the battery in it will die. Any thoughts?

Alpine keyless entry

Call Keystone Customer Service and ask them to send you a PDF of the directions. It is lots of pages, but you will need them if you ever have to re-program the system...for example if your coach battery goes dead. The keypad is held on by double sided tape (no wires through the door) and uses a button cell that does not seem to last very long. I did not get a key fob with my unit, so I bought one. They are not cheap.
