Broken window

We broke a window on the front door of our 318 sab cougar. How does one go about fixing this?

If you look at the inside of the door window frame, you'll see 12 screws. These hold the inside and outside door frame sections together. The window is "squeezed" in position between these sections. To remove the frame, remove the screws. Make sure someone is holding the frame sections as it may fall and break.

You can often find replacement "safety glass" at most RV dealerships or you can also find it online at Amazon, EBay and many RV parts suppliers. Camping World is one such supplier.

Measure carefully, there are several different sizes. Get the size you need, follow the installation instructions and you'll have "completed the job".

It's not difficult, just pay attention to properly sealing the outside frame section and the window to the frame.

Good Luck

If you can't find any replacement glass at an RV supply, try going to your local window and glass shop. They won't have the size that you want but will have something cut for you. Probably a more expensive route to take but at least you will end up with the right size. You'll need to take in the frame so that can make a pattern of the proper size required.

Use butyl tape to seal the window.
