BobnLee, Howdy;

There was a thread on that same subject a month or 2 ago,
try the search box using 'Virginia Beach'. might help...
Sorry, it was Sandbridge, just down the road a few miles and
all the campgrounds will work for both.

We stayed at First Landing SP a few years ago in OCT while visiting our Sailor in Norfolk. We liked it alot. Quiet and miles of biking trails. It is a drive to VB though. We looked at the other VB CG's while we were there and think we made the right choice. On the southern end of VB is where the KOA and Holiday Traveler Park are. The problem that we had with down there was all the Jet NOISE from NAS Oceana. Don't get me wrong it is the sound of freedom...

Anywhere in va beach you'll get jet noise. We love first landing. It's a little tight as far as the trailer backing up and all but the campsites are almost all on the beach/ bay. The only drawback is fort story next door. If you can live with jet noise everywhere else you can handle fort story noise. It's an active training facility right next to the campground and sometimes has maneuvers till 11pm. We experienced it the last time we were there, live fire, helicopters, the whole Shibang! I thought it was entertaining, just had another beer!

Still trying to get into First Landing but it is booked solid when we will be there. I really would like to stay there so we are calling back every day to see if there are any cancellations. Here's hoping

Good luck. We made reservations in April for the September Poseidon festival. It's a popular campground being that it's on the beach 10 minutes from downtown virginia beach
