We have a 2004 Montana 5th wheel with 3 slides set up on a permanent campground spot, plugged in to power. When we got here today, 2 of the slides opened and the large living room slide will not open. There is nothing restricting it. When pushing the button, the lights go out and something starts to beep. Any ideas on what this is or if we need to call a service guy? I think we have hydraulic pump on the slide. Someone told us about a sheer pin could be broken. My s.o. Thinks its a switch of some sort. Any help is appreciated!

We haven't been here to open the slides for almost 6 months...is it possible maybe it's rusty and needs some wd-40 or some lube?

One possible cause is your battery is low or almost discharged. For the slides to operate efficiently, your battery needs to be fully charged. I would try plugging your TV into the Montana and leave the truck running while trying the slides again to see if that makes any difference.

I wouldn't recommend using WD-40 for any kind of lubrication - especially on the slide mechanism. The Lippert manual recommends not to lubricate but spraying some dry lubricant on the parts won't hurt. WD-40 will just attract dust and dirt and isn't a good lubricant at all.

Is everything else working fine, such as air, frig and lights? May check converter fuses. If one is blown battery won't charge.
