The cost of fuel relative to all the other costs associated with camping is relatively small. As inflation drives up prices, other options like flights/hotels/restaurants rise as well, if you look at the alternatives to camping. My wife and I already have a couple weekends (or longer) booked monthly from April to August already, though nothing in June due to my youngest’s wedding in Spain. We’ll finish booking into October as we can. We’ll pay for fuel, no biggie. Two years of remote working have saved me 500 miles a week in commuting to the office. That’s a lot of fuel savings for two years that I’ll put toward camping and relaxation. Lord I’m ready for spring.
