Shower Door shatters

We bought a new Keystone 5th wheel 2011 27 RKS (lite) Aug.9th of 2010. We happened to sleep in it in the driveway a few nites...we go in on Aug. 8, 2011 to go to bed to find glass shattered all over the floor from the shower door. We called the dealer and they said we would have to call the manufacture to be told (What caused it to break? They needed a reason. We said "we need a reason" because there is nothing we did to cause it. We had the AC on so it wasn't from the heat. We were so dissapointed that they didn't help us out at all. If they couldn't replace the glass, they could have discounted us or something. The dealer said it would cost $300 to buy the whole shower thing back and $300 to fix it. We decided to go to the glass company to get plexiglass put in the door. Well we have done that but now the door needs to be cut back just a little to fit.....We did make a call to the dealer for instructions on how to get the door out, they called us back and told us that someone would call us first of the week which they did, but they were to call back again, they never did (this guy was suppose to know about this kind of thing,) So, we are very dissappointed with their support system.

Shower door

Sorry to here its broken, your dates are off I am sure just an oversight. When you got the trailer home was the door broken then? The door might have been swinging and not latched and hit a cabinet and broke and you missed it when staying overnight in the driveway. They will need some type of fault in order to repair it that sounds logical good luck and keep working with your dealership and talk with the manager that might help you get it fixed.

IMHO I would not use plexiglass to repair you will be much more happy with the glass door fixed correctly.

Thanks for your reply. With the dates posted, I meant it was almost a year and the warranty was almost up. We had the shower door latched, really we hadn't done anything to cause it...we didn't need to bother it since it was just sitting in the driveway. We had been camping the second week of July and the camper was sitting in our driveway since then. Our dealer said the warranty didn't start until Aug.11th with the walk thru. It's just that it was so close time to the warranty being up on it. We have gone on to try to put plexiglass door in...I'm so afraid this will happen again and cut someone, even though it may never happen again...it was a real mess to clean up.
