Black tank valve
I have a Montana 3791rd my black tank valve is leaking out when closed, my camper is on a permanent lot it lt has a Bristol valve from what I’m hearing I should change it out with a valterra are they the same measurements as I wouldn’t have a problem replacing it if so what one should I use

Bristol and Valterra are NOT the same. You probably just need new seals not the entire valve.

My last couple 5ers had a few feet of piping from the valve to the drain connection that held waste water, always thoght the valves were leaking. After replacing seals & trying everything else I just added the cap shown below to the rv sewer connection, connected the sewer end of the hose 1st then open that small cap over the oven hose, usually drained about a quart.

If you don't want to tear into the underbelly and the plumbing, just clip one of these on the end of your sewer pipe. Even if the tank valve leaks, this will stop it from dripping on the ground when you remove the cap. If you hooked up permanently with a more permanent sewer hook up, then is definately the easiest way to get around everything:

Yes
Valterra “BladeX” fits all Valterra valves
Valterra seal won’t work on a Valterra Blade X
Bristol seal fits Bristol.
