Norcold 2118 no fl

Good morning, We have been having some issues with our Norcold fridge. It’s one of those problems that won’t stay broken long enough to figure it out. It runs fine on AC but when we swap it to LP it might run 4 days or 4 hours or it might not light at all. I have closed the gap between the ingniter and the burner tube because it was a little wide to about 1/8”. On our last outing we ran it on AC for a day then switched to LP for a day and every thing was fine. We loaded our pre chilled supplies into the fridge the day before we left and all good, run the slide in and went back into the coach to make sure it was still working and it was. 200 miles later we arrived at our CG and it was off . No fl code again
Luckily it didn’t get to the point we had to throw anything away. Switched it to AC and ran it for a week. We were packing up to leave and it wouldn’t light on LP so we started the generator and ran it on AC for the trip home. When we got home I tried to light it on LP and it lit and worked fine for a couple of days The other gas appliances in the coach work fine.
I’ve switched it back and forth a couple of times and checked it periodically.Yesterday it stopped again (no fl) The warranty is up on it so now I’m the warranty! Any ideas?
Thank you!

No idea what trailer or floorplan you have, but if the refrigerator is in a slide, I'd be very suspicious of the LPG flex hose from the trailer rigid gas line to the refrigerator. If it flexes and "buckles not bends" it'll shut off gas flow to the refrigerator and do what yours is doing.

I'd also check EVERY electrical plug and crimped connection behind the refrigerator. You could have a corroded or loose connection that "sometimes works/sometimes fails"....

It’s a 2019 Keystone Raptor 356 . I thought that would show up in my signature but didn’t. I checked the flex hose under the slide and it’s not crimped . I also went through every connection behind the fridge and thought had found the problem, the big red wire which ignites the flame and I assume also detects flame like a thermocouple was only partially pushed onto the blade connection. I pushed it firmly on to the connector before I last trip when it worked fine for a couple days thinking that was it but nooo! Since then I have simulated the flame being blown out going down the road and the igniter immediately began sparking to try and re light the flame so it’s trying to work. Still scratching my head! Thank you for replying

I was going through the list of things to check and discovered some corrosion around the gas valve solenoid , the coil was within specs at 85 ohms
I cleaned the rust off the coil and polished the surface on the gas valve and restarted the fridge on LP
So far so good Fingers Crossed
Thanks for the help

Checked the fridge last night after work
Still had a flame but the fridge was 80+ degrees so switched it back to AC and checked it this morning on the way to work and it was 38 in fridge and below 30 in the freezer
Switched back to gas and it lit so I’ll check it again after work tonight
Things that make you go hmm 🤔

Make sure the flame is centered in the hole in the chimney. Also you may want to use compressed air and blow that tube out, if the flame was bad it can cause soot build up on the diffuser and restrict the heat.

Checked the chimney it’s all clear no obstruction, the burner is clean and soot free and the flame is centered under the chimney which is a good thing because I didn’t see anyway to move it.The picture is upside down but you can still see what’s happening

It makes no sense that the fridge would be cold on AC and hot on LP.

I know it doesn’t make sense but it’s been running now on LP for 24 hours and the freezer is at 10 degrees F and the fridge is at 32
I just switched it back to AC and gonna leave it like that for awhile
I may swap it back to LP this weekend and see what it does
Thank you all for your assistance and information
I don’t know if it’s fixed yet but it’s working
I’ll chime in if anything changes
Thanks again

No, it makes perfect sense for the fridge to be colder on LP than AC (the flame is hotter and more efficient than the electric heater), which is what you seem to be stating here. It didn't make sense for the fridge to be 80 on LP, which is what you said earlier.

Just thought I would update everyone. On our last outing we checked the fridge while on AC and swapped it to LP and it worked fine. On the morning we were to leave we had the fridge loaded with supplies for the week and swapped it back to LP and the no fl alarm came back. Both bottles were full but the regulator was half between red and green so I swapped bottles and nothing changed. We started the generator and switched back to AC so we could get on the road. I have since replaced the regulator and both supply hoses from the bottles, maybe it was a failing regulator all along? So far it’s working

2021 Fuzion 427

Any further update. My 427 does exactly the same thing. It has been to the dealer three times and they can’t fix it. Now they say I have to go to Norcold. I wondered if it was a gas pressure issue.
