Awning Falling Apart

So I'm about 2 years in with my Keystone Passport, and the awning has had a few issues since the start. The newest one is this. It looks like the cord that holds the awning fabric to the roll up tube is coming out at one end. After hours of searching YouTube for a repair ideas, I am still stumped as to how to fix it. any help would be greatly appreciated. See photo below

If you can’t push it back in, I have had success cutting it, and then threading from the other end.

Looks like the cap doesn’t cover those slots in the roller. My end caps cover all the slots on the roller except the one the pull down strap goes in.

I’ve seen that a few times.

When the awning "rope" was installed there should have been a screw on each end installed into the rear rail to prevent the rope from slipping and working its way out of the rear rail track and awning loop...

The other end of the awning most likely has NO awning rope in the web loop and sooner or later that side of the loop will pull out of the track

attached is a very simple and effective way to fix that or buy a new awning rope and remove the old and hassle with installing the new rope into the fabric web

The OP's issue is on the roller, not the wall of the trailer, the fix could be similar.

Old eyes and first cup of coffee when I posted… yes I see it now and I would fix the same way with an insert .. otherwise pulling the entire rope out and starting over would be the only other lasting fix…

Regardless it’s a simple and easy fix
