Hooking up IPad to Aux port of Jensen MP5000

How does one play a podcast or radio program through the Aux port of a Jensen MP5000 from an IPad or smartphone? I tried by hooking up my IPad to my Jensen MP5000 using a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable through the aux port but it doesn’t work. I don’t get any sound from the program. What can I do to listen to a podcast or radio station through my smart phone?

I don’t think the Jensen MP5000 connects by BT.

This is what I use to connect to the tv if your interested.. you plug the apple wall adaptor/ charger into it and a hdmi cable in the other outlet and it connects to your tv and let’s you watch anything that is on your iPad or iPhone or internet, Netflix, podcasts etc and puts it on your tv screen.. use’s screen mirroring

Also your 1st post said you hooked up via 3.5 cable...did you choose auxiliary in the menu to play it back? Typically have am,fm,aux sources to choose from but not sure if yours does or not

Thanks for all your replies. I finally tried it again with my android and a 3.5 mm cable and it worked. I’m able to listen to my podcasts through my Jensen MP5000. I really don’t know what I was doing wrong the other time that I tried.
