Shore power cord cover

I use these for the boats ..I bought one for my fifth wheel because I leave it plugged in all the time.
I’m pretty sure the factory shore power cord is not uv protected.
It’s 24’ long and has a zipper the entire length. It keeps the cord clean and prevents damage to it.
The cord still rolls up in a nice hoop
I highly recommend and they are very common among boaters

Here’s the zipper. It’s heavy duty

We full time and our SOOW cord has been out in the weather for three and half years and still looks great.

OnEdit: Also our power cable is 40’ long.

Great idea for keeping multiple cords together. I use 404 aerospace on ours to fend off the weather. What about water/rain collecting inside that cover?

The shore power cable for your trailer should be uv resistant as well as most common chemicals. That's a good idea for keeping multiple cables from becoming tangled or reducing the trip hazard from multiple cables.

It’s not totally water tight..it has a zipper. This will be my first year using it in the winter though.

I guess that’s suited to protect the shore power cord in a marina from chafing?

Yes. Although on a pier in a marina with salt water exposure and sun they usually fade after a year and Wouldn’t last as long as they would on land being shaded at times

Full-time for 10+ years with the cord from 2 different RVs laying out everyday with the only issue ever encountered was cold weather, it was so stiff it would barely coil up.

Never had a problem with UV and deterioration of the rubber, but I have had the rubber pull away from the plug part, exposing the wires. This happens due to the shear weight of the cord pulling downward on the plug part.

Yep it’s not for everybody .. I bought tire and wheel covers also. Mine stays plugged in at my house about 20’ from my garage. I just wanted it to protect because I’m not rolling it up and moving every couple days or weeks. Don’t want anyone damaging it while it’s in one place. Sun damage mostly happens if the cord is baking in the sun in one spot without it being moved. And my wife is always using yard carts and her bike and working in the yard. Just like the extra protection

Yup
I use a bungee cord at the rv to my bike rack. It can also make the electric connection loose and overheat

Got this several years ago to prevent that from happening again. I just left it attached to the OEM cord all the time. Why the cord manufacturers don't make them this way, 99.99% of RVs have the plug on the side not the bottom.

The new cougars like mine has the 90 deg ends but still a lot of weight on the connection

I like having things covered I keep all the canvas up on my boat all the time even though the boat is at my house at my pier. I keep the eisenglass clean and it looks nice. It keeps all my upholstery from getting faded and dried out. I’m just particular that way
