2020 Cougar 27SGS - Grey Tank Confusion

Our 2020 Cougar 27SGS has three waste tanks (1 black and 2 grey). There are three dump handles (2 in the basement: 1 black and 1 grey. 2nd grey is under the camper just in front of the wheels). Single discharge location for black and grey below the 2 handles in the basement.

According to Keystone, the rear tank/dump handle is for the bathroom and the front tank/dump handle is for the galley/kitchen.

We've ran until both the kitchen sink and shower have backed up. One of the tanks shows full, the other shows empty. Pulling the grey dump handle in the basement doesn't release any water. Pulling the grey dump handle under the camper dumps water and empties kitchen sink and shower and all is well.

Also, when we first set it up after taking delivery, when I removed the exterior cap from the discharge, water ran out... I'm assuming it was just a bit left over from the walk-through. After leaving that first location and setting up at the second, the same thing happened but there was considerably more water this time as if a valve didn't shut completely or wasn't functioning properly.

My conclusion is that the plumbing is completely screwed up from the factory. Unfortunately, my SO is a travel nurse and is on assignment 1100 miles away so we've been trying to coordinate and document the circumstances and processes to relay to Keystone for a service call.

Has anyone experienced something similar? And does anyone know if Keystone Service Centers make "house calls" to the RV Park? I'm 14 hours away with our Tow Vehicle so taking the camper to the Service Center isn't our most desirable option.

Thanks in advance!

Do the kitchen sink and the shower always back up at exactly the same time?

If so, it sounds like they plumbed all the gray systems into one gray tank and left the other unused.

I'll have to confirm that with my wife, but I believe they do, or at least very close to each other. The shower is located "upstairs" so it's going to have just a little more pipe to fill up before backing up, I would think.

Your thought on everything being plumbed to a single tank is the only thing I could come up with also, but wanted some other opinions from folks more experienced than we are.

Thanks for the reply!

The shower and bathroom sink are above the kitchen sink. If they were on the same tank the kitchen sink would always overflow first.

Easy way to figure it out...

Empty all tanks.Close ALL valves.
Go to sink and run water for 5 minutes. Do not run any water anywhere else. None not one drop.

Now go pull the handle you think is the galley tank..

Got water?

No... close that valve...

Now pull one of the others..

No water ???

Close that valve and open the last one.

That's the galley tank.

Drain all water and repeat with shower.

Thanks! That is a good process to narrow it down. I'll send it to my wife and have her run through it and document the process and results.

Thank you for the reply!

I read this as meaning that all of your gray water is dumped with one handle. The shower and the kitchen sink both. Correct?

If I'm right, then you might be like me and both gray tanks are plumbed together. My coach has just one gray handle while for some reason yours has two - one of which does nothing. If I'm right, you don't have a problem other than ignoring the second unnecessary handle and the useless display gauge.

Be sure to keep us updated on what your wife finds. What part of the country is she located in?
