Schoodic Woods in Acadia

We camped for the past 5 days here and loved it. It's a new campground in Acadia with water and electric. An anonymous donor funded this campground, including an additional $20+ million endowment to keep it going. The sites are big, level, and pull through with a big table and fire pit.
Located on a peninsula north of Bar Harbor, it is isolated... but in a good way. The area is very scenic with many hikes and biking trails. There are many good restaurants near the campground and an IGA less than a mile from the park entrance. There are no showers and the rest room is not heated .
There's good Verizon reception at the campground, better than on Mt. Desert Island.
The campground is so quiet and peaceful. No noise at all when we sat around the fire at night.

Glad you had a nice time. We spend time camping in that area every summer. We live about an hour and a half from there. We really enjoy Bar Harbor and Acadia.
