Best clear roof sealer

Like most others I tried the "search" function until I just finally gave up. I'm going to wash the roof of the Raptor later this week and want to know what those of you in the know have used successfully to seal the surface of the roof after any small Dicor repairs may have been made. Thanks for your time.

If your looking for UV protection, there are spray products made by Dicor, I think I've seen posts from members stating aerospace 303 is what they use.

Aerospace 303 - wipe it on with a microfiber cloth - then wipe off the excess.
No more white chalky residue - but, be careful, can make the roof a little more slippery. treat ours twice a year.

Aerospace 303. I wipe it on with an old washcloth and don't wipe off the excess. No drips, no runs, no white chaulky residue, no black streaks on the sides. I also, after washing the rig, wipe down the sidewalls/decals with the same process using a different "old washcloth".

I'm sure you will like the product - however, 2 gals is a LOT of 303 - a little of this stuff goes a long way. Don't know what it costs now, but, we bought a gallon 2 years ago for about $60.

I have been using 303 on my whole trailer. It seems to work great on everything but the front. At one year old, the front was really chalky.

I read that 303 has to be applied every 3-5 weeks. Has that been everyone's experience? If I'm putting it on the roof - that's a bit much to haul my butt up there every 3-5 weeks and apply it again - just sayin' there has to be a longer lasting product.

That could be the case. I have been applying every 6 months and it doesn't seem strong enough for direct sunlight.

There is a significant difference in the UV levels between Austin and northern Michigan. That said, I always applied 303 three or four times a year when we lived in Louisiana. Here in Michigan, I apply it during the spring "cleanup" and again in the fall when we wash and winterize the trailer. That has worked well for us both in Louisiana and here.

The more UV rays, the stronger the UV rays, the more protection that's required. I'd suspect every 5 or 6 weeks wouldn't be overkill in Austin, especially on the decals, but is, for the most part, not necessary this far north.
