King Jack Antenna

Last summer, I saw this antenna for the first time. I have been hugely disappointed in the stock one that came on my 2015 Impact 311. I am wondering if anyone on here has installed this antenna. How was the install? Was it worth the money? We camp mostly in Wisconsin where there are usually large trees. It isn't unusual for us to not be able to pull in any TV station, even though we are within 50 miles of the city and the tower. I am looking to increase my ability to watch Packers and Brewers games while camping. Any information is greatly appreciated.

King Jack Antenna

I've put a few in. They seem to do a little better than the traditional bat wing, but I don't know if it's worth the cost. Wineguard does sell an attachment for your existing antenna, I think it's called the "wingman".

Installation is straight forward and fairly easy, well illustrated installation guide.

I replaced my wingman with the Jack that mounts on the old mast. It was a direct replacement and simple install with just two C-clips and not even necessary to get on the roof.
It improved reception even while laying flat on the roof and this model allows me to get a few feet of elevation which helps with UHF broadcasts.
If you do not have the crank-up style antenna you may not get that great of an improvement but it is still not that big of an investment for even a little more reception. JM2¢, Hank

Installed one on the antenna and did not see an improvement. Mind you where we live and camp reception is not great at the best of times. JMO

A friend of mind purchased the King Jack and paid to have it installed. Real disappointment and a lighter wallet!! He still is I have had no issues with my original bat wing antenna, consider you are only going to pick up strong stations in the area and that signal strength will vary the day and night. I have added the clip on extra unit (wingman??) to pick up more UHF (higher numbered channels) which will give you availability to more channels. Will not help reception of VHF channels. This add on definitely works and I think is well worth the investment(~$30). IMO I would not buy the King Jack

Of all the roof antennas I have seen and tested, IMO the best one out there is the omnidirectional made by triple vision.

King Jack Antenna

I was just trying myself and came up with the same results. They are standard equipment on Tiffen motor homes. I'll see if I can find a link from my service guys.

Found this https://www.close5.com/i/5717a5c2071246553c994c9c

The website www.triplehelectronics.com doesn't appear to exist and not much on the business either.

Maybe that one posted above is still available for $10. Good luck.

The first link is what used to be on the roofs. It had a styrofoam ring with metal bands and a controller inside to rotate it. The new ones have a base and are omnidirectional. My boss thinks triple vision went out of business. I'm still trying to figure out brand/PN for what's up there now. I thought it was still triple vision, but I may be wrong....again

Thanks for all the replies. My issue with the stock unit on my toy hauler is it is fixed. I mean completely fixed. I cannot raise it, nor rotate it. It is truly just the Winegard batwing on a fixed shaft which stands about 4" tall. The antenna cannot be adjusted, and is actually at, or below the height of my air conditioner. It sits right next to the front A/C unit. I had one of the Wingman units on my old camper. May try that on this one.
My brother just bought a King Jack for his TT. Hope his reviews are better than this sampling! Yikes.
