Breaking News.....
Arctic blast hits Houston. Low of 36 Friday morning. Possible sleet north side of town.
TV news people hilarious.
Low of 28 Saturday morning. Son wants to walk the old family farm. Sounds good. Maybe the water moccasins are finally down.
Picked all my citrus today. Satsumas, oranges, tangelos, and a bunch of lemons.

Sounds like I should take my 4x4 down there to pull stranded motorists out! Could be lucrative. And 28 would be a heat wave compared to 0 this morning in Kansas City, MO. Stay safe down there!

Forecast for the Atlanta area is.....4-6" of snow with some sleet/ice. They are simply not prepared for that kind of winter weather with both of their snowplows. Seriously, does anyone remember the "Snowmagedon" of 2014 in Atlanta. The only good news is that it isn't supposed to happen until around 7PM this evening......mostly after rush hour, but then again, the Atlanta area is nuts with traffic almost 24/7.
Here in E. TN where we live (we can see the Foothills of the Smoky Mountains from our back windows), we are in the 4-6" grid. Go 30 miles north towards Knoxville, and it's the old "a slight dusting in the valley!"

LicOrice, you better bring your "longies" to keep handy in the boat. You're pretty far north in Florida.

They are now saying that by Thursday/Friday next week in my area (just south of Knoxville, TN) we might see mid-sixties for temperatures. WOW!

Son calls this morning. You want to go to Mauriceville this morning? I thought you were working OT? (he works 4x10's). Naa I decided to stay home. Yeah let's go. Walked through 8-12 inches of water checking the pine trees. Still there, still growing. No snakes.
Came home and watched TV news....OMG we have video of snow northwest of town.

Yeah....the running joke at work was...it's a little cool out there (Deer Park)...yep, snowing in Conroe.
I think the official weather station in Conroe is in a hole, really. Always a few degrees cooler there.

You can keep your snakes, I'll keep my high of -6 today and low of -20 tonight. Been like this for two weeks with 36 inches of snow on the ground without a snake in site. LOL

My source was the aviation forecaster's blog. Often a running monologue sometimes referencing millibar levels and the isentropic process, etc, but through the fog of climatological, scientific mumbo jumbo they called it right. Whadda ya know!

I have friends that swear by aviation forecasts. I forget to look them up.

Y'all live in either the wrong part of the country or the wrong part of NC. Planned to leave for a couple months in FL Saturday. Called for rain at the SE NC coast so headed to south GA today instead. Going to be cold Saturday night ~ maybe even freezing. One cold night and then Florida.
BTW ~~ the SE coast of NC does get maybe 1/2" of snow once every 3 - 4 years. Generally comes overnight and is gone around lunch time. Besides, no ocean to fish in the cold part of the state.

Here in Southwest Idaho we have 15" of snow on the ground with another four to six predicted tomorrow. Low this morning was -8. Sunday is predicted to bring...are you ready for it?...rain! This could get ugly real fast. Freezing rain first and then warmer rain to start melting all that snow sitting on top of frozen ground. Floods, power outages and weights too much for the roofs. I think we should have gone to Arizona for the winter!
