Chicken Wings on the campfire

Has anyone fixed chicken wings on the campfire? I want them to be crispy but not frying. Thought I would toss some in BBQ sauce and some in Franks Hot Wing Sauce. Serving along with potato soup in bread bowls. Not really wanting them charcoal grilled either. Any ideas?

I'm not sure I follow what your final objective is for the wings?? You're going to cook them on a grill over the campfire but you don't want them to be grilled?? You could wrap them in tinfoil I suppose.
