Furnace problem

I have a Cougar 29RBKWE with a furnace problem that we developed while camping. At first the Suburban furnace worked fine on the first day. On the second through the last day of the trip, the furnace would activate one time while it was on auto, blow cold air for twenty seconds or so, and then shut off. The only way to get it to come on again was to manually move the thermostat bar to activate the furnace. Again it would blow cold air and shut off after 20 seconds.

Checked all the fuses and propane and everything was fine. Checked the Suburban owners manual and it showed that the furnace was in some kind of "lock-out" mode and the manufacturer or dealer had to be consulted.

Has anyone ever experienced this and what would be causing it? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help

When mine failed it would start heating and shut down maybe 1 min. I put hand over heat vent to feel vent push air. It was cold than turn warm than cold and shut down. I doubled checked propane and tanks where full and working. It was under warranty. Dealer found same as I did and pulled furance out, the main board was shot. I do not know how they tested the main board to found the problem. They also found a black wire was cut in half due to the fan spinning with furance working. Others have had the main/mother board fail. Your saying no heat so, it could be different problem?

Well my repair shop called and it was a "limiter" switch that failed. Apparently it limits the furnace before it gets too hot. $10 switch and were back in business.

Furnaces usually have a control panel inside them. They have a led that will flash. The flash pattern is a code that would point you to the problem. Look up your model number and use manual to troubleshoot from there. Glad it turned out to be an inexpensive fix!

That was a easy fix. If I had not been within warranty it was about a 400 repair.

No warranty repair on this one. The switch was $10.00 however they charged me $83.00 to install for labor.
