wall mount coat rack
Has anyone installed a wall mount coat rack as a modification ? If so what was used to secure the rack to the wall to hold the weight if a stud is not used.
I am considering buying a coat rack from Safco that is a flip-out coat rack.
This rack has flip down hooks for the coat and retracts ( great space saver) when not in use. Kind of pricey from $34-$59 depends upon where you buy it, I just don't want buy it then I can not use it. I have attached (hopefully) a pic of this product.

I like that also and wouldn't have a clue how to mount it. I'm curious to see how that might be done and thanks for posting it, I like the idea.

I ended up going with 3M Command Hooks - coat hooks with brushed nickel finish. Did same for a hook on inside of bathroom door.
I like the idea of hooks that flip out of the way, though.

Look for your studs with either a stud finder or look to see where the wall is stapled. Measure to see if you can use at least 2 studs and screw it on. If you don't want to do that the the command strips as others have said.

I did find out that IKEA sells folding hooks in a package of 3 for $9.99 which is more to my budget as I can mount them to a piece of wood that I have kicking around. Thanks to all for the input.

Definitely use the command hooks. They can hold up to 10 lbs, they're inconspicuous and no need for putting holes in your walls.

There is an interesting video,on the Trailer Life Website, on mounting two racks, on opposite sides of a wall.

Might work for you

This is the video where I saw the folding coat rack and started to reseach as to where I could buy this rack. Far as back to back install, this would not apply for me as the shower stall is on the back side of the wall to be installed on.
I like the idea of the command hooks as there is no drilling of holes and can be removed if it does not work.
Again great ideas..Thanks

I added a couple 3M command hooks with 5Lb. capacity. If you wanted to go with a coat rack like your picture, 3M has a product with velcro and works the same way as the command hooks. We have used it to hang a sign and picture in our TT. Not sure how much you would have to use to for a coat rack.

Command hooks work great. I installed a bunch in our previous camper and they did the job. Took them all off when we traded up. will definitely install them in the new trailer.

I used a Molly Bolt on the interior wall of my trailer, if you are not familar with them you need to pay attention to the overall depth of the wall and the thickness of the wall material for it to work properly.
Here is a picture
We used it to hang Carhartt Jackets and heavy items, never had an issue.
