New Access Panel for converter, water pump, bypass for waterheater

So I had to get to the converter a couple of weeks ago, and what a pain. So I improved the access. Instead of removing the whole four foot panel to access these items I made a new one and in it I added a hatch, making the whole process much easier. The last thing I'm going to do which is not in the pictures is add the same carpet to the panel.

Yes, it is indeed a serious pain in the keester to work on the water pump and associated water lines. I was in the basement for an hour today trying to isolate and correct why the pump is sounding so loud all of a sudden. No joy in discovering the problem and man is that thing NOISY! We wouldn't mind a followup on your project and how you carpet the rest of the interior and so on. I am going to tidy ours up and get some hooks and so on in there so it is easier to organize. Good info on this forum about organizing the basement!

Cheers!

I would be happy too,I'll be working on it again on Monday and hope to finish that project up. I should have mentioned that I also moved the converter ninety degrees too so I could access the fuses if need be. And while I had it all open I marked every hose as to what it does.

Good mod. I spent a day in mine to get the water bypass kit installed. I had to remove the whole large panel. I have made a few adjustments to access mine now, but really like this mod. Carpet onthe wall never thought of that? thanks

I've had the flat panel off (six screws) and that uncovers the converter. The water pump seems to be behind the angled part and that's sheet metal on our Monty. The metal seems to be all one part with the convenience panel. I'm going to have to take it apart sometime after it warms up since I really want to quiet the pump some. Might make a wood hatch in the metal - I wouldn't mind if it stuck out a little. Thanks for the idea!

OK, so today I finished the passenger side panel I had left, the one that has the power, cable, and light in it. I didn't like how low the light was so I raised that and the other items as well. There are two large #10 pan head screws in the bottom of this panel that have to go back. They tie in this wall brace to the frame. Tomorrow I'll carpet the whole wall to match the rest of the basement.

I like it. Now maybe I can start next week. Just did the converter, wish I had done this first.

Nice. Clean and professional job. I don't even know where my pump is and won't mess with it until I have to (not always the best plan, I know).

But I do like the idea of and outlet under there, plus a light on the driver's side.

My pump is quiet at times, yet other times when it gets a little air in the lines it will bellow like there is no tomorrow. I'm going to remount on big rubber feet so the shock is not reverberating throughout the entire camper.

I like the idea of an entry panel, but I think I'm going to look at making it slide rather than pivot up.

Yep, after my last trip north for almost 3 weeks, I took your idea and made it practical, added a light to the driver side as well, and made the switch on either side turn on both lights sort of like double pole double throw switch, except in a rather small rocker switch configuration.
