Lippert Motor Repair

My rear stabilizer motor ( Lippert ) needs repair. It wasn't sealed properly and water got inside and rusted the springs to the brushes. Lippert is quoting $529. to replace I am trying to find someone that repairs them. Any information on a repair shop would be greatly appreciated.

Try an automotive starter/alternator repair shop. There are usually at least two or three in any large city and they rebuild DC motors/starters/alternators using better components that the Chinese installed in the original motors supplied by Lippert.

I just did a repair on the in laws trailer where the spring on one brush had totally rotted away. The only thing I could find for a quick repair was a spring out of a pen, cut it down to length and worked well, took about and hour. If they would of had more time, I would of run into Radio Shack or somewhere else that had a selection of springs and possible got one a little closer to the original.....

Just a thought, might be expensive for the part. But cheaper to buy than a motor. I work for a forklift repair company. We sell motor brushes and springs aftermarket and can match them up. May be able to find a local provider there and get you hooked up.
