Question Calling all OCD detailers

I washed my trailer this morning. While scrubbing the grip tape on my steps I was wondering what others with OCD do to clean their trailers. Yeah, I scrubbed my wheels, too.

What are the most obscure parts of your trailer that you clean, and how? I'd like to clean and wax my bumper (and frame), but it's already dulled and seems un-cleanable.

Heh, just wrote up a blog post about my methods to wash, wax and detail the RV.

I guess I'm most OCD with the roof, I'm obsessive to keep it clean, probably too much so but it does help keep the black streaks away and no harm keeping a good eye out on the sealants up there.

I got out my trusty 32oz bottle of 303 today and got *most* of the exterior and it's looking pretty sharp!

Some things I noticed:
1) The 303 did a great job of cleaning my grimy silicone around the lights, hatches, etc., making the silicone blend in with the white.
2) The 303 also removed some old 3M double-stick tape from a failed bubble level installation I tried.
3) Like someone in another thread, I used it from hitch to rear bumper. The dulled black finish looks much better now.
4) I should have done this last week after I washed the trailer. That way I would have gotten all the stuff I need a ladder to reach, like the roof and awning. Next time.

Yes, I even 303'd my outside steps. No, they're not slippery. In fact, they're pretty grippy since I've scrubbed them and free of dirt.

From now on, I'll keep a bottle of 303 in the trailer for spot cleaning.

I tried using dryer sheets and Magic Eraser, but neither did much more on spots and black streaks than last week's hand wash.

Some say that it should be called CDO. That way it's alphabetical.

The OCD continues…I tried using Colgate toothpaste (not gel) on a paper towel to clean my black streaks. It did a good job. I figure toothpaste is only very slightly abrasive and isn't caustic like some cleaners. Plus, I already had it in the trailer and didn't have to go shopping.

With my new extra-long gutter ends, I'm hoping that black streaks will be a thing of the past.

I think I had that once, but I recovered without meds. When you start cleaning the dashboard of your car with a toothbrush while you're sitting at a traffic light, you really should get some help.

Seriously, we laugh at OCD because it's really victimless, but if you think about it, a lot of valuable time is wasted arranging paper clips and polishing the head on your car key.

You know, what REALLY bothers me is how the Robertson screw heads tend to collect dirt. Spent most of a day blowing the screw heads clean with compressed air. Maybe they should use aircraft rivets?

Yah sure - *They* put a label on you just because you want clean pushrods in your truck engine.
Well, pull the heads and check yours out - I'll bet they're filthy.

You'll thank me later
