I like these guys:

They are the same fixture that Keystone uses for scare lights on the outside of our RV's. We use the same fixture in our ambulances for interior lighting in the patient work area. They use a standard 1156 bulb which can easily be swapped out for a LED when desired. The Bargman part number is 40-60-004: http://www.bargman.com/content/produ...part=40-60-004 They are readily available at most any RV parts counter and online sales outlets.

Here's an identical fixture on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Volt-Secu...-/250666625937

We used some round LED puck lights we bought from Costco that are battery operated. They have a remote and have a dim setting. The battery compartment/mounting base comes off with a twist, so I just used a couple of small wood screws to attach them to the wood frame from of the underside of the top bunk.

I thought of mounting some hard wired lights, but I took the easy way out for now. I didn't feel like trying to find a power source and running wires that would have to move up and down with the top bunk. If these puck lights don't work out like I hope then the next option would be something more permanent.

We are trying to come up with lights that mount to the underside of the top bunk. May have to use some battery operated "puck" lights. We removed the upper bunk on our last trip and did not have light issues. Would be difficult in my opinion to have 12v lights mounted to the bottom of the top bunk, especially when they move up and down.

Last trip we ran some rope lights over the upper bunk supports and plugged them in on the left wall outlet. There was enough room so we could still move the bed up and down with them plugged in. I'm planning on putting some adel clamps on some existing screws under the upper bed then the lights can stay there. The ones we used were not as bright as the ones we use outside so they were not blinding and gave enough light.

I have the same problem. I've tried battery lights, but not very bright in the dark. I'm considering 110 volt bar light mounted under the top bunk.
