brake controllers

I have a ram 1500 pick up with an aftermarket brake controller and I need some advice. The controller works fine but when i apply the brakes as i let off of the pedel the trailer brakes do not let off but it feels more like they stay at the max pressure i applied until i am off the pedel completely. Then they realease all at once. This is more of an annoyance to me then anything. Are there controllers that do not do this?

There are many controllers that do not do what you are describing. I switched to a Prodigy 2 controller and it works great. No problem with the brake drag like you have. Also depending on what year ram you have and if it came with a towing package you can buy a plug and play adapter for the prodigy.

I installed a Prodigy 2 on my 2013 Ram 1500 Express. So far, the system is working fine. No problems.

There are 2 adjustments on most controllers...sensitivity and braking power....Perhaps you need to adjust them
