Generator woes again

Now when priming generator it is spewing gas out the carb into the airfilter. Not just a drop or 2. More like an open faucet. When cranking it turns over really slow like dead battery. Battery is fully charged though.

TIA
Carlos

You are probably ingesting raw (liquid, not atomized) fuel into the cylinders. Liquid does not compress, hence, the difficulty in turning the engine over. There is something wrong with the carb. You can seriously damage (bent rods) your generator's engine. JMHO

Jack, I previously had trouble with carb a couple of months ago. Supposedly old fuel. The fixed it and it ran great. I brought the rv home and ran generator until out of fuel. This past saturday I put 5 gallons in to run generator with both AC's. (call it generator exercise) ran it for about 8 hours and decided to turn off and restart on sunday to run it out of fuel. On sunday it wouldn't start and the woe's began. Intersting enough, I tried to start it today and it ran for about 30 seconds and quit. So from what you said about cylinders filling w/ raw fuel, it must be draining into oil pan?

Thanks

HI CARLOS first off the carb is flooding I.E needle and seat orfloat is bad in the fuel bowl. if you are handy you can get a rebuild kit. if not well to the repair shop. next shut the fuel off and then check the oil level over full smeel like gas drain it. pull the spark plug out ground the plug wire to the engine so there is no gap for a spark. turn the engine over and this will blow the excess fuel out if there is any. suirt a little oil down the cylinders less than a teaspoon will do crank it ove to spread the oil around. put the plug in and leave the wire off. how does it turn over good? then fix the carb. if it is still turning over slow. then you may have a bad starter bad cable bad battery or internal engine damage if there was too much fuel in the oil and it was run that way. keep us posted. also as preventive mesure in the future all ways put "sta-bil" in the fuel it will keep the gas fresh. the green/blue stuff works for 2 years. i use it in all my stuff, tractors generator snow blowers never have problems. good luck.

X-2 Barney's reply - yes the raw fuel finds its way into the oil pan - my 18hp lawn tractor was famous for this until I added a fuel shut-off valve.

Thanks folks! I appreciate the feedback. I am handy and confident I can tackle the job Barney. BUT since this is a new unit 3/2012 I will let the dealer take care of it. They fixed the carb last time it was there. I guess they will need to review what they did or didn't do.

Unfortunately we are leaving wednessday. Not traveling to far so hopefully I won't need it between tampa and atlanta.
