What kind of battery?

Anyone using Optima Batterys, thinking I got to buy a battery before next year.
Are they worth the $

I have two blue tops and have had them for 6 years and they are still going strong..I make about 3 to 4 trips a year full hookups and one 3 day dry camping trip..They have been great for me..

I, too, have two blue tops and have been very pleased with their performance. IMHO they are worth the extra $$. The Optimas use a spiral plates design with the AGM (acid gel mat) in between, so you get a lot of plate surface area. The mat also acts as a vibration absorber and prevents the plates from contacting. AGM tend to last longer than liquid batteries, usually around five years average.

When u run with 2 batterys r u hooking them up differently or just having a back up battery one the other goes dead. I am gonna have to invest cause running low on juice suks!!

Like almost all people who use 2 batteries, they may be wired differently depending on whether they are 6 or 12 volts. Our 6v batteries, for example, are wired in series producing 12v. In this case, there would be no sense in packing a spare 6v.
For those that have 2 12v's, they would be wired in parallel. Using a single 12v battery and carrying one as a spare isn't really practical nor does it provide much benefit.
You would be better off combining them in parallel and keeping them charged up - either by solar panel, by generator or by the RV's converter.
