Unhappy New Idea - New problems

I was looking at stabalizer jacks for the 2 livingroom slides on my Vision. There first year out was 1012. Before ordering I decided to measure from the ground upto the bottom of the slide, 55 inches. Tallest jacks Iv'e found 47 inches. Not only that, but all the jacks Iv'e seen have a U shaped top, designed to go around the slide supports. Mine is sealed, I have no idea where the supports are, nor would I want to puncture the material on the bottom of the slide. Any idea's???? Could build something out of 4x4's but that seems like a lot of lumber to haul around. Maybe thats the reason for all the basement room. Could be a while before the aftermarket catches up.

You should not jack up or support your slides.

If for some reason your trailer shifts, the possibility of "racking" your slide mechanism is very high. I have had wind loads that rock the trailer a lot more than the tooth engagement of my slides.

Thanks - never thought of it that way

I look at all the sales hype and assume I have to have these to prevent what ever it is they prevent. Thanks for the common sence prespective. Now I'm off to find something else to spend money on.....

I don't think the Vision uses Lippert slides with the rails and gears or hyraulics underneath. They use BAL (Norco) cable slides. If these are what you have you can get MANUALS HERE but you should have received them with the trailer. Hope this helps but like others have warned ... Don't support the slides ... you will end up with other problems. JM2¢, Hank

X4 You will just have to spend the money on something more important like a good recliner or beer
