Welcome! Hope your rig brings you lots of pleasure and few problems. FWIW I have a 25' Ultralight (under 4000# dry) double axle trailer that I pull with a half ton 2000 Chevy conversion van with the 5.7. I went with a Blue Ox hitch and that has been well worth the price - I can back the rig up with no problems and have never experienced any sway even on big downhills and having a cushy conversion van suspension. No problem cruising at 70 (sometimes creeps up near 80, I try for 65) and other than easily handled wind buffeting from semis and truly sad mpg I have had no problems. I did add tpms after getting lucky noticing an under pressure tire and then hearing about a blowout my cousin had with his rig - even more essential for you with a single axle trailer! I suggest you take a shakedown weekend as far as you can travel, or at least maybe an all day loop back to your house just to get some driving time in with your rig, that should get you more comfortable with your rig and possibly identify any concerns you have in advance of your big trip.

Your Bullet and Ours

Congratulations on your purchase of the Bullet. We have a 2017 31-foot Bullet bunkhouse and have traveled over 35,000 miles with it. No major issues other than tires, brakes and a few odd and ends. First suggestion is if you are going to pull it far distances, get new tires. The Trailer Kings (China Bombs) that came on ours blew two tires the first year. Running Goodyear Endurance 10 ply's now (this is the 3rd set of tires, didn't learn my lesson on the second set). Brakes were warranted directly with Dexter Axle as well as springs. Sure these were because of excessive use. I don't believe these campers are designed for my kind of mileage.

Have done quite a bit of upgrades in cabinetry on the bunkhouse and master bedroom for more storage. Overall, it has been a very good and dependable camper.

Good luck and safe travels,

Made it out alive

Well beside having to drive slower than I normally would the 250 mile RT through the endless mountains of PA via Rte 6 was uneventful. OK going up mountains I sure knew there was something behind me! Slow and steady and no issues what so ever - here are a few pictures

Oh and i was boondocking

I took the rig to the Cat Scale and with it full of water and my stuff it was 3740lbs

Glad you had fun and things went well. Looks pretty there. DW was born in PA and has wanted to get me back there (54 years). I'm a southern boy but sure looks nice.....and just about mirrors what she has told me.

This was actually a gun range - I was working at a machinegun shoot about half mile up the road. Just me and one deer at night. Very nice.
