Need brake shoes

I inspected the brake shoes on my 36' Springdale and noticed that I will soon need brake shoes. Called my local Tow Pro store and they told me "good luck in finding them" ! ! ! ! This trailer has a 4400 lb axel and that seems to be the problem.

Does anyone know a good supplier of these brake shoes (assembly)?

I don't think it is much more expensive to just order new backing plates, with the brake shoes already installed, might as well get the self adjusting version, while you are at it.

I agree with Brian. You can buy the complete "self adjusting bolt on assembly" with new shoes, magnet and all hardware/adjusting components for most 12x2 assemblies for around $50 each. Buying only replacement shoes and magnets for the same wheel costs around $20 for the shoes and $25 for the magnets. So, a $5 savings by using all the old hardware/backing plate and hoping nothing is bent or broken... That doesn't include the time to disassemble, clean, inspect and reassemble the brake assembly. And you still have "non-adjusting brakes"...

Ditto, when I needed to replace the shoes I just replaced the whole assembly. Just did it myself, I am pretty handy so I’ll say very easy to do myself. Your results may very, lol.
Hardest part for some people may be getting the brake drums off, discovering that I needed to also replace one brake drum, which meant replacing bearings/seals also.

Just do a search on Amazon, lots of suppliers for your brakes.

I'm not sure where you are procuring said components.
My trailer may be coming due for new brakes this year (I need to go pull the wheels and inspect) I also have 4400 pound axles with the 10 inch brake assemblies.

I'm looking on eTrailer right now at 4400 pound axle brake kits.
Self adjusting Code: K23-478-479 are $389 per axle
Regular assemblies Code: K23-462-463-00 are $304 per axle

Of course etrailer isn't the cheapest place on the planet
But they usually are at least competitive.

As someone that does brakes too many times to count, replace the entire backing plate assembly and upgrade to self adjusting.

Amazon has Lippert 10x2.25 brake assemblies (fwd self adjusting for $48 each, that's $192 for the 2 axles: https://www.amazon.com/Lippert-29665...s%2C191&sr=8-4 The same ones are available on "Capital One Savings" for $40 per assembly/$160 for 4 brakes.

I'm not sure, but it looks like they are selling new drums, the backing plate assemblies, maybe even new wheels for that price. It looks like a K23-454-00 for the left side and a K23-455-00 for the right side are the backing plate assemblies for the 4,400 lb axle. You would also need seals, but can't see where they could get almost $200 each for a backing plate assembly. etrailer.com shows $99.14 to $99.32 for each assembly--https://www.etrailer.com/s.aspx?qry=K23-455-00.
