Help with a/c

I recently knocked off my a/c I’ve searched all around and cannot find the exact one that came off so I can put it on myself. I have a 2018 cougar 26rks. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have the owners packet when you bought the trailer, it will have model and serial number.

If the unit is still on the roof, the model and serial number are on the top and in the return ducting.

Looked on RVtrader.com at your camper model and they had a 2019 with a nice profile shot. Looks like a Dometic Brisk II in the black color. I bought one of these in 2017 (I think it was) in white and the 15K BTU unit. Given your trailer's length you may have had the 13.5K or 15K BTU and if replacing, just go with the 15K unit. Take the lower shroud off and take out the four long bolts that retain the upper part (which you broke) to the lower in the camper. l Unplug the upper from the lower and go up on top and get the old one off and install the new using the new foam gasket. Biggest chore will be getting the new one up top. I used a long ladder and put some tie downs around the box and drug it up the ladder but it helps to have a buddy pushing up from below. I would also advise the AC power be shut off when doing this job.

Don't know what you may have had originally, but I wouldn't put less than a 15k unit back in a 30'+ rv as the main unit.
I'd also put at least a 13.5k second unit in the bedroom if you ever plan to go south or west in the summer months.

I agree with the previous posters in that NOW is a great time to upgrade to a 15K BTU unit if you had a smaller one previously.

That said, which model to get depends entirely on information we simply don't have. If you have the "In-Command system" you'll need a different setup than if you have a "previous technology of a wall mounted thermostat". Which system goes far beyond whether it's a Coleman or a Dometic or an Air-Excel brand. Anyone recommending what to order will also need to know what equipment is included in your trailer and what technology controls the HVAC system.

I think the upper A/C will work with most any wall mount or in-command which is a function of the camper's lower. Am I wrong? If there is any question, the OP should call Dometic for verification. Dometic has a bunch of support numbers: https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/contact-us

If the "entire top unit" is missing and "all that's left is one side that says DOMETIC", then there'll not be a control unit to salvage to use on the "identical top unit replacement".... Without knowing what he has, and whether it's damaged or functional, it's difficult to suggest "what he'll need".

I have a 2018 Cougar 22RBS and it has a Dometic Brisk II. You most likely had a Dometic Brisk II also. And since you also probably have the Dometic capacitive touch thermostat you can't replace the AC with another brand without changing the thermostat out also.

I have the in command touch and yeah I was told it was a 15k unit. There’s wires ran to the front bedroom for another unit. I did say domestic when I get off work I’ll get some pictures of you guys

If it’s a 2018 and standard profile it’ll be a Brisk II. Low profile I believe are Penguin.

2018 was the anniversary year for cougar and part of that package was the free upgrade from 13500 BTU to a 15000 BTU Dometic. Does your unit say anniversary edition on the outside?
