Heater really noisy

Of all the rv’s I’ve owned, this heater is by far the loudest. When the gas burner is on, it sounds like a small jet engine. This is not the “high end” quality I expected on an Alpine Rv.

The BTU rating is the same as my last RV, but easily three times as loud (not the fan, the burner)...

Any comments?

What brand is the furnace? I've found that suburban furnaces (two holes on the outside) seem to be quieter than Atwood furnaces (one hole on the outside).....

Probably has a Dometic Atwood furnace like our 2020 Alpine. They are a little loud but what isn't now days. Our whisper air system is not that quiet either. But you get used to both. Especially with old age.

My last RV had the two hole unit, and was much quieter...this one is the one hole unit...I guess I’ll just have to take out my hearing aids...

Thats funny Sir. I had more of a problem getting used to the AC kicking on. Sometimes I thought the roof was caving in. But after a year were both getting used to it. Kind of like white noise I guess.

It's probably an Atwood (one hole exhaust). Our last one was so loud it sounded like a jet taking off. Our bedroom slide came out the same side and I slept on the side toward it. Guess I finally got used to it sleeping as if I was on an overseas flight with the big engines just roaring in the background....until it shut off and popped! And now....I can barely even hear the furnace (Atwood as well); I may never sleep well again...

Ours is the Atwood as well. But inside our rig it's one of the quietest we've ever had. I think all furnaces are very loud but their placement inside the unit makes a lot of difference. Ours is placed such that we are fairly well insulated from the noise and it's general impact is less. If there is room between the furnace and the living space it might be possible to insert some rigid insulation which would lessen the noise.
