2012 Bullet Premier weird Electrical issue

My husband broke the little loop thingy that hooks onto the battery. He repaired it and now the air conditioner won’t turn off. The thermostat screen is blank, the fridge and tv/dvd screen is blank. Some of the lights work. The breakers are not tripped and the fuses are good. Any idea what the problem is?

Welcome to the forum

Little loop thingy? By chance do you mean the butt connector that is crimped onto the wire and then held onto the battery with a nut?

If it was the POSITIVE wire, was the trailer plugged into shore power as he fixed it? If so he may have accidentally touched the positive to ground, and blown the “reverse polarity” fuses.

Look at your fuse panel for 2 40A fuses to the left of the row of fuses. I bet they are no good.

Oh shoot, no, shore power wasn’t on. Checked those fuses and they appear to be okay. Any other suggestions?

Thanks so much for your reply, we are totally flabbergasted. Have no idea what to try next.

Unless you use a meter or test light, fuses can “look” good and be blown. Time to use a meter or test light on all the fuses.

That "little loop thing" is called a ring terminal. Was it on the positive or negative battery connection? How did he "repair" it? Did he crimp or solder a new terminal on to the end of the wire? If the ring terminal broke off due to corrosion did he cut the wire back far enough to get good clean copper?

Lot's of questions but necessary to eliminate that as an issue. Also, if so equipped, did he turn the battery disconnect while working on it and forget to turn it back?
