Trim work bowing

What can I use to reattach the trim around the inside of the door it is bowing. Some one suggested double pointed tacks but not sure what size to use or if something else would work better. Regular trims nails seem to just pull out. Would appreciate any help on this.

Pull the barren trim off. Remove the failed brads with some small wire cutters. Then trim the end of the batten strip so it will lay flat and use 18gauge brads to reattach. We careful not to nail to the metal door frame then putty the bead holes.

If I had $1.00 for each time I’ve had to do this I would be a very rich person.
