Awning arms not attached

We just got back from a week long trip and noticed the channel for the awning arms were bouncing about 1/2" to 3/4" off the sidewall of our Cougar 22RBSWE while travelling. I checked it during a gas stop and it wasn't bolted on it was glued on with caulking or some sort of adhesive. It didn't affect the function of the awning when we arrived but is a concern. Its headed to the dealer for another issue so I'll see what they say.

On my last 5er they put a screw at the top & one at the bottom when the strain was in the middle once the awning was extended, you could see it pull away when the wind picked up. There were 4 more holes for screws in the channel up/down the length & I put screws in every hole.

I should clarify that the awning is bolted on at the top of the arms, but not anywhere down the channel. They used what looks like caulk at the mid point and the bottom to adhere it to the siding.I hear ya about running some screws or small lag bolts in to hold it,but while its under warranty I'm gonna see what solution the dealer comes up with.

Sounds like someone dozed off when mounting the awning. Most likely the "caulk" is butyl tape that's used like a gasket then forgot the rest of the screws or twisted them off, which is highly probable.
